Provolone Flan
Ingredients for 4 people
 
  • 300 g Provolone Val Padana
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cups milk
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp rosemary
  • 2 sprigs of finely chopped parsley
  • 1 medium sized white bread loaf
  • butter
 
Pour the milk into a bowl.

Add the salt, rosemary, parsley and onion.

Mix and add the cheese (Provolone Val Padana). Leave to stand for one hour.

Heat the oven to 180°C and grease a casserole dish.

Cut the bread into thin slices.

Place the slices in the casserole add a layer of the cheese.

Cover with another layer of bread and a layer of cheese.

Slowly pour the milk mixture over the bread and cheese and allow it to absorb.

Cover with a sheet of aluminium foil and bake in the oven for 15 minutes.

Remove the foil and continue cooking until a crust is formed.
